Introducing Cambodia
The Kingdom of Cambodia is a country in Southeast Asia, with Vietnam to the east, Laos to the north, and Thailand to the west of the country. The country has a turbulent and unstable history and still suffers from great poverty today. Overall security has improved immeasurably, and this allows ever-increasing numbers of visitors to safely visit and discover Cambodia’s stunning temples and beaches. If you’re planning on visiting Cambodia, be sure to approach your travels with an open mind and an adventurous spirit – Cambodia is a place where things don’t always go according to plan, and the more you’re able to relax and go with the flow, the better your trip will be.- When is the best time to visit?
- Cool Season (November to February): This is the peak tourist season with cooler temperatures and dry weather, making it ideal for exploring temples and outdoor activities.
- Hot Season (March to May): The weather is hot, and temperatures can soar. It’s a good time for those who enjoy warm weather, but be prepared for high temperatures.
- Rainy Season (June to October): This season brings heavy rains, lush landscapes, and fewer tourists. While some areas may experience flooding, it can be a good time to visit if you prefer a quieter experience.
- Where Should You Go?
- Siem Reap: The gateway to Angkor Wat, Siem Reap is a vibrant town with a mix of ancient and modern. Explore the awesome-inspiring temples of Angkor, including Bayon and Ta Prohm, and enjoy the lively markets and restaurants.
- Angkor: Angkor Archaeological Park, just 6km south of Siem Reap, is so much more than just the famous Angkor Wat. The most famous temples are indeed Angkor Wat (the largest religious monument in the world) and the Bayon Temple at Angkor Thom.

- Battambang: This charming town is known for its well-preserved French colonial buildings and the Bamboo Train. Discover the ancient temples of Phnom Banan and Wat Ek Phnom.
- Kampot: Nestled along the river, Kampot is famous for its pepper plants. Enjoy the laid-back atmosphere, explore the French colonial architecture, and take a river cruise.
- Koh Rong Islands: For a beach escape, head to the Koh Rong Islands. Koh Rong and Koh Rong Samloem offer pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and a relaxed atmosphere.
- Kratie: A riverside town known for its serine landscapes and the opportunity to see rare Irrawaddy dolphins in the Mekong River.
- Kep: Once a glamorous beach destination, Kep is known for its seafood and the abandoned French villas. Visit the Kep National Park for hiking and panoramic views.
- Preah Vihear: This ancient temple complex is perched on a hill and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.
- How Many Days Do You Need?
- Short Trip (7-10 days): Focus on Siem Reap and Phnom Penh to explore the main temples and historical sites.
- Medium Trip (14-21 days): Include additional destinations like Battambang, Koh Rong Islands, and Kampot for a more comprehensive experience.
